B. Hole-in-One

#1: Can a player in a 2-ball flight claim insurance for his hole-in-one achievement?

Yes, a player in a 2-ball flight may claim insurance for his hole-in-one achievement. He will have to submit the following documents to facilitate the claim within 30 days of achieving the hole-in-one:
a. Score Card signed by player and witnessed by his flight-mate
b. Hole-in-One Report issued by the Golfing Department
c. Original bill for the celebration expenses

#2: Can a player in a single-ball flight claim insurance for his hole-in-one achievement?

Yes. If a player is playing alone and has seen the ball going into the hole, he should wait for a witness to accompany him to the hole to validate his claim. In this respect, the player can ask the players behind him or call the golfing office for a marshal to witness his achievement. The claim procedures in Question 1 apply.

#3: Can a player claim insurance for his achievement if the game is aborted after 3 holes and the course is off limits for the day due to inclement weather?

Yes, the player can claim insurance for his achievement. The claim procedures in Question 1 apply.

 

C. Smoking on Golf Course

Before the cigarette butts become unsightly on our course, with immediate effect, smoking is allowed only on the tee-boxes and in buggies.

 

D. World Handicap System (WHS)

A single unified handicap system was implemented on 1 Jan 2020. Golfers can click on this link to find out more.

 

E. SGA Centralised Handicapping System

Singapore Golf Association (SGA) has implemented a Centralised Handicapping System (CHS). This system provides a modern and unified platform for golf handicapping, allowing golfers to post their scores anywhere on the go via the online portal or mobile app.

#1. How do I register for an online account?

#2. What are the consequences if I do not have a registered account?
You:

  • will not have a valid USGA Handicap Index
  • will be able to play socially but excessive penalty scores will apply
  • will not be able to play in golf competitions such as Monthly Medals, Inter-Club Leagues and in-house tournaments
